Figuring out what the whole family will wear for your Family Photo Session in Boston can be overwhelming. I KNOW! That’s why I prepared this post with some helpful tips for you. Buckle up!
#1 Choose your palette first.
Pick a palette of 3-4 colors. Let this be your starting place. Think in terms of tones: blue tones, earth tones, neutrals, pastels, etc.
Everyone in the family can express their own sense of style within the chosen color palette, and the whole group will coordinate beautifully.
#2 Coordinate, Don’t Match,
Colors that complement each other are the best choice. Don’t matchy-matchy. Need some inspiration? Check out the boards bellow.
#3 Textures and Layers
Choose different textures that will give photos some interest such as lace, denim, and knits. Layers will provide more visual interest in each photo and will also allow a lot more variety in your shots and poses.
Wear something you feel awesome and beautiful in. Ensure it’s an outfit you’ve worn before and you know it’s comfortable.
X Say NO to:
X Logos They are distracting
X Small Plaid and Stripes They cause an effect called moire, meaning: It causes an irregular wavy finish on a fabric. Your printed photos will present distortion
X Bright White Off white, ivory, and creamy work way better.
X Very satured colors or very dark colors
X Sleeveless or Strapless Clothes
X Oversized clothing
I put together four family outfit combinations with links to give you some ideas and get you started.
